It\u2019s a place where customers can get personalized recommendations for everything from the best dry hair shampoo to the right skincare routine for acne-prone skin.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We want to have conversations with our customers about their hair and skin, so we can guide them to the right products,&#8221; said Chris Haddad, CRM and E-Commerce Manager at Oz Hair and Beauty.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But as the retailer tripled in size over the last few years, maintaining customer relationships in store and online became a challenge. The warehouse saw a surge in orders, and customer service channels lit up with inquiries.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s when we knew we needed to get more strategic with SMS. We&#8217;d had our fun, sent out a blast, and got a great result, but we wanted to expand on that,&#8221; Chris said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating personalized, conversational experiences with SMS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, Oz Hair and Beauty uses SMS to increase customer engagement and sales through:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Targeted promotional campaigns<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For major sales events, like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Chris segments contacts based on past purchases, interests, and behavior. For even higher engagement, he personalizes messages with custom fields like the customer&#8217;s name, location, and product preferences.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWith Sinch\u2019s help, we\u2019ve figured out what works,\u201d Chris said. \u201cWe know we can smash out a 160-character SMS in a matter of minutes \u2013 and people will respond to it.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oz Hair and Beauty\u2019s targeted, conversational approach has led to impressive results. For instance, their 2022 Black Friday\/Cyber Monday campaign generated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>12% click-through rate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>15% response rate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>100% delivery rate&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, every promotional SMS campaign has achieved a click-through rate of 10.32% or higher.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;By using SMS as an engagement and conversational tool, we can add more value for our customers,\u201d Chris said. \u201cAnd Sinch is the easiest-to-use platform to have those conversations.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Abandoned cart messages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>They also integrated Sinch\u2019s SMS services with Shopify to trigger messages based on customer behavior. For instance, if a customer abandons items in their cart, they\u2019ll receive a text inviting them to complete their purchase.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We have seen a 13% conversion rate for that, which is amazing,\u201d said Annaliese Evans, Oz\u2019s CRM and Loyalty Specialist.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even better, they\u2019ve generated up to 38x ROI on their abandoned cart messages.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.
