A 50lb bag of sand will fill about 12 of a square foot. It’s probably not enough sand for most sandboxes. Most of the smaller ones will need at least two bags of sand to give you enough to work with.
If you are going to use a sandbox, you will need to make sure that the sand is not too soft or too hard. If you use too much sand, it will not be able to hold the weight of your sandbags.
The best way to do this is to put a small amount of water on the bottom of each sandbag and then fill it up with water. Once you have filled up your bag, place it on a flat surface and let it sit for a few minutes to allow the water to evaporate.
Then you can fill up another bag and repeat the process until you run out of bags.
