What angle should a turtle ramp be?
As you work, use an angle to measure your incline. The ramp is at a 45 angle. Hold your plexiglass in place for a few minutes while it cools down, once you have the angle you want. You won’t have to hold it in place after it has cooled down because you aren’t going to want to move it until it fully cools.
Once it is cool enough to handle, you will need to cut a hole in the bottom of the ramp. This hole will allow you to attach the plywood to the wall. I used a 1/4″ drill bit to drill the hole. If you don’t already have a drill press, I highly recommend getting one. It will save you a lot of time and frustration when you are trying to do this project.
I drilled was about 3/8″ in diameter, which is about the size of a standard 1×4. Be sure to use a bit that is the same size as your drill, or you may end up with a piece of wood that isn’t square.
Do turtles need to sleep above water?
