Your veterinarian will be able to perform a thorough examination of the wound and determine whether or not the bite was self-inflicted. If your veterinarian determines that the snake was bitten by a venomous snake, he or she will prescribe an anti-venom (such as Advil or Vicks VapoRub) to help prevent future snakebites.

Why is my snake acting hungry but won’t eat?
Sometimes snakes show a lot of interest in the food being presented, but don’t eat. We aren’t giving them what they want. It could be rodents, frozen or thawed, or any number of other items that fall in the spectrum of snake prey.
If you have a snake in your home, you need to be aware of what it is eating. If you can’t see what the snake is doing with its food, it’s probably not doing it right. It’s also a good idea to keep a close eye on your snake’s food so that you know what you’re feeding it.
Why won’t my snake eat its mouse?
He might refuse to eat his mouse if the cage is too warm. Make sure the temperature is the correct range for your pet’s species. He should be given a hidey hole in each of the temperature zones.
